The Gold Star Mission is a nonprofit organization that seeks to honor and support Gold Star families by preserving the memory of our fallen Illinois heroes. The primary fundraising event for the Gold Star Mission is the annual Gold Star Mission 500 where veterans, current service members, and other participants ride bicycles 500 miles over four days. Each participant rides in memory of a Guard member who has fallen since the beginning of the War on Terror. Stops are planned along the route to raise community awareness and honor the fallen service members within those communities.
Funds raised are used for 34 scholarships awarded to students throughout Illinois. Scholarship recipients are selected based on written essays that relay the story of one of the 34 service members. The essays honor the life and ultimate sacrifice of these Guardmen. By doing so, we ensure the names and stories of these fallen heroes live forever.
The riders will come through Peoria on the afternoon of September 25th, where they will be welcomed and celebrated at the Veterans Memorial Courtyard downtown, on the grounds of the Peoria Courthouse. The afternoon will include food and drinks provided by local food vendors.
While your attendance is not necessary for the raffle drawing, we'd love for you to join us in honoring the fallen and supporting the riders of the Gold Star Mission 500 on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 25th in Downtown Peoria.
There is no better way to honor a legacy than to continue it. The Factory Five Mk4 Roadster is the world’s best-selling, best-engineered, and best-performing replica of all time.
The Mk4 Roadster is designed to accurately reproduce the looks of the legendary 427 Cobra, keeping its essence intact, while using modern technology, parts, and materials to improve performance, reliability, and comfort.
Factory Five uses high-quality, precision-cut plate steel with 1010 and 1020 DOM tubing. The Mk4 frame stands head and shoulders above the original 1965 legend thanks to better tools, better materials, and modern technology. Its welded parts are made in the USA with American labor.
Without your overwhelming support and involvement, none of this would be possible.
